General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for asking a question at HCM

I will be glad to answer your question.

Cortisone injection will start acting from 24 to 48 hours after it is taken. It some times takes 3 to 5 days.

The effect can stay for months,

If you feel the effect is not there, after 3 weeks you can repeat one.

Generally we give 3 to 4 months spacing. Frequent cortisone injections is not recommended.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
Dr Chaithanya
