What Is My MRI Result Suggestive Of?

I just got the results from my MRI, and it shows partially empty sella. I have been reading about the symptoms and that there are a lot of people who don t exhibit any symptoms. I have almost every single synptom, and some of the symptoms are quite severe. Does that mean anything? Are there different stages or levels to this anomally?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, I really apprecialte your concern about the given rare condition. The Condition is called as 'Empty Sella Syndrome'. Pitutary gland is a important gland in your body present in brain and situated in a Place called as Sella turcica.
'Partially Empty Sella' on MRI means that the gland is flattened or shrinked. There are various reasons for that including bulging of brain covering inside, tumor, radiation, surgery ect
The symptoms may also vary from impotence, decreased libido, irregular menstruation, fatigue, low energy, nipple discharge ect.
Now the main step is completed as diagnosis is established in your case. The physicians will further do some Blood tests to determine the hormone levels in your blood. This will determine which hormones are under produced by Pitutary which may be causing your symptoms and those hormones will be replaced. If you have any further questions, feel free to contacts. I wish your for health.

Regards,
Dr.Abhijeet
