What Is My CT Scan Result Indicative Of?
Hi. I have a question about my CT scan results. It says, Gallbladder shows mild uniform wall thickening and enhancement, but this is probably due to a collapsed lumen. If concern for acute cholecystitis, consider right upper quadrant ultrasound for further evaluation. I am having sharp pain, enough to stop me in my tracks, in my upper right abdomen now and feel disoriented. Does this need immediate attention?

noted CT-scan result. yes, you may have a gallbladder (specifically a gallstone disease) or biliary tree pathology. wall thickening is suggestive of an inflammation or cholecystitis (usually secondary to an underlying disease such as gallstone formation), which may have been new or there for a long time already. it is best if you consult with a doctor, preferably a general surgeon or a gastroenterologist, for physical examination and clinical evaluation. diagnostics (such as ultrasound, liver function tests) and management (medical and/or surgical if indications are found) will be directed accordingly.
