What Is Infected Hair Bump Under The Armpit?

Sure, I went to the doctor and she believes I have either an infected hair bump or small cyst under my armpit. I am currently being treated with an antibiotic. I also noticed that it seems to be a raised sore vein/ligament under the same arm stemming from where the hair bump is. I have no fever or any other symptoms...just the soreness in this vein even though I have taken the antibiotics since Tuesday. Please note that I was given a mammogram and diagnostic to rule out anything else and it came out negative.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having furuncle localized in axillary with lymphangitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it will worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. A NSAID like ibuprofen should be taken twice daily for 3 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, doxycycline, azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
