What Is Causing The Sleep Of Legs After Bowel Movement?

Hi. My husband has been having issues with his legs and feet falling asleep each time he has a bowel movement. It takes him several minutes to be able to get up. Once he is up it takes several more minutes to regain full feeling. What could be the cause of this?

Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted the history related to your husband having the problem of sleeping of the legs and feet every time he has a bowel movement. It takes him several minutes to get up and several more minutes after standing to regain full feeling. Wants to know the causes...
The feeling of sleeping of legs and feet are mainly due to three different reasons.
1. The vascular causes
2. Neurological causes
3. Combination of both.
If he is sitting in a swatting position the neuro- vascular compression causes the problem that you have explained.
In such a case he is advised to sit on a commode that is western style of toilet seat.
If he is sitting on the western type of seat, then he has to adjust the position in such a way that the neuro-vascular compression is avoided.
Also go for the clinical evaluation of the problems, detailed clinical examinations and relevant investigations like MRI of the lower spine, for any problem at the hip and knee joints to find the most probable cause and get corrected the defects.
At the same time he should stop all the tobacco products as they act on directly.
