What Is Causing Extreme Shortness Of Breath?

I have been extremely short of breath for about 2 and a half months, I have a history of anxiety and panic attacks, but this just seems different, the shortness of breath lasts all day and seems to get worse by the end of the day, it also includes chest pain, tightness and pressure. I wake up thru the night and still the like I m struggling to breath, Im seeing a dr now, chest X-ray was good, ekg was good, the only clue we might have now is my blood pressure has been a little high especially for my age and weight.

Hi, thank you for asking healthcare magic.
With this presentation, I think it would be necessary to rule out a problem with the left part of the heart (left ventricular failure). Another test that is very important is an ultrasound of the heart. You might be having back flow (regurgitation) of blood through the valve when the heart is pumping or you may be having impaired ventricular filling when the heart is resting (valve stenosis). I would suggest you do this test.

I hope that helps
I wish you well
