Hi. My Mother has Parkinson s. She has recently been taken off amantadine because of the hallucinations associatd with it. However it has effected her to the point of someone going through drug withdraws. She is currently in the hospital. They have started her back this morning on 50mg but I am afraid the hallucinations are going to start. Is there another drug that can offer the same or similar results without the hallucinations? She has just changed neurologists because hers retired. We have seen two, the first wanted to stop everything cold. That was not good. The second stopped the amantadine thinking about the hallucinations but that still has put her in the hospital. I can t even reach the on call neurologist we have tried for two days. I am going to phone the new doc in the morning but would love any suggestions you may offer. Thank you Rick
