What Does White Substance In Stool Indicate?

i am 18years old. the last few days I have had mild diarrhea. over the last 2 days its been accompanied by intense stomach cramps during the movement. Today i had semi sold feces, but I had to use a lot of pressure during the movement and when i went to flush i noticed that one piece looked like it was covered in a white substance. it wasnt white worms..it almost appeared furry. but it definitely wasnt that either. im scared and very uncomfortable. Can you help me?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

White substance in the stools may be due to mucus or pus. It is seen in bacillary or amoebic dysentery or diarrhea or IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) or IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). Until and unless examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol, take soft diet. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
