What Does Vitamin D 7 Support Mean? How Much Vitamin D 7 Should We Have In Our Systems Per Day ?

Hello, I have a friend ( 76 yr old ) who resides over on the west coast who has been advised to have once a month injections of vitamin D 7.. What does this mean ? ? She is not computer savy so I am asking this question on her behalf. What does vitamin D 7 support ? ? How much vitamin D 7 should we have in our systems per day ? ? She eats extremely healthy food, this is what we cannot understand,, eating health home grown vegetables, fruits.. We are stumped by this reccomendation by her Reg. nurse. Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcare magic,
Vitamin D is one of fat soluble vitamin and we get from diet and sunlight exposure.
In old age there may be osteoporosis due to calcium and vitamin deficiency. If he is found to be deficient in Vitamin D level then it's supplementation is required.
Usually 2000 IU/ day can be given safely.
If deficiency is more then high dose may also be required.
D 7 is zoosterol and is ultimately converted to Vitamin D3 and is useful to body.
It has many role like in bone health, immunity,even in prevention of chronic degenerative diseases.
Please take vitamin D as suggested by your doctor and if possible oral form may also be used.
