What Does This Urinalysis Report Indicate?

The result of my routine urinalysis (26weeks pregnant) Epithelial cells: MODERATE Amorphous Urates: MODERATE Bacteria: MODERATE Pus Cells: 7-10 RBC: 1-3 pH: 6.5 Specific Gravity: 1.005 Is there a problem with the result that needs to be treated? Thanks

Hi there,
I am Dr. Deepak, I work in Emergency Deaprtment, Where I see many pregnant ladies with minor illness. You have mentioned your urine routine report and are concerned if there is any problem regarding it.
The report shows: bacteria which is moderate
Pus Cell: 7-10 cell
pH: 6.5
The report indicates that you are having urine infection, which is mild now. Usually if you were not pregnant, I would have recommend you to drink more of corn beery juice and lots of water. Which should clear it out.
Since you are pregnant, I would suggest that you need a course of antibiotic to clear the infection Preferably I would prescribe Ampicillin 500mg.
As it is a prescription drug, I would recommend you to show a family physician or Your OBG specialist.
If the infection is there for longer period of time, it can be harmful for the baby.
