General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Laboratory tests involve the detection of certain chemicals to identify any underlying illness. These days the tests are very sensitive and detect the smallest levels of that chemical and sometimes similar behaving chemicals as well. In case of HIV, antibodies to HIV virus are usually detected. In your case it is stated that it was non-reactive, it simply means that you don't have HIV, and that little value is of no significance. Remember, no one would have a value of zero, so you don't need to worry.
Hope I cleared your doubt.
Regards
