What Does This Ultrasound Report Of Thyroid Mean When Diagnosed With Breast Cancer?

Just had an ultra sound of my Thyroid. Report says the isthmus is normal measuring 2mm. The right lobe measures 12x13by 31mm. The left lobe measures 15x10x35 mm. There is a9x15 slightly hyperechoic inferior nodule and a second 7x8x7 mm hypoechoic lateral inferior nodule. Note I have breast cancer (2006) metasasized 2011 to spine (tumor) and bones, Went to left femur in2014 and now is in lower spine and liver, My doctor is out of town and I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what this may mean. Thank you very much

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM

In my opinion and according to history provided
Hypoechoic thyroid nodule is matter of concern because hypoechoic nodule on ultrasonography suggestive of malignancy in your case most probably metastasis from your breast cancer.

Second nodule which is hyperechoic on sonography is suggestive of bening lesion.

You have to follow up with your oncophysician with reports for further management.

Hopefully I cleared your doubts.

Regards.
