What Does This Transvaginal Ultrasound Report Indicate?

I m 49 yrs old after heavy bleed with clots for more than a week I got my transvaginal ultrasound 1.3 cm endometrium thickness on 10/03/15 is normal? the gynecolist see me for d&c what is for?Pelvis ultrasound 1.6cm on sept 15.doc gave me depo Vera shots 3mos 150mg 8/3/15 for heavy bleeding 2 weeks. Can you give a medical advice I appreciate it. Thank you . Gladys

Hello Gladys,

The endometrial thickness is acceptable if you are still having periods. But if your periods had stopped and now you are just having bleeding, then the D & C (a procedure where they try and clean out the contents of the uterus and send some to the lab for analysis) may be beneficial in that ut allows for closer assessment of the source of bleeding.
