please explain to me the following result of my husband s semen analysis appearance-opaque liquefaction-viscocity-viscous volume-200 ul ph-8.0 concentration-14,900,000 sperm/ml motility-40% rapid progression-10% moderate progression-20% slow progression-10% immotile-60% viability-40% morphology-90% wbc-10-15 i just wanted to know if i can concieve the moment we take medications?
The defect in semen report is highlighting two main aspects as that of: - More amount of immotile sperms, which do not traverse through uterus up to fallopian tube to make you conceive - Viability of 40 % means the sperms do not remain alive for a longer period of time after ejaculation.
Though there are guarded chances of pregnancy with certain medications, at times one may need an Assisted techniques of Reproduction such as In vitro fertilisation or others. Testicular biopsy is the gold standard test for your condition and if so is available with you, kindly share with me during follow up period.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
