What Does This Results From Cervical And Brain MRI Indicate?

I just had a Cervical MRI and a Brain MRI with contrast. I m wondering if I have MS? The Cervical shows degenerative disc disease with retrolisthesis C5-6 and canal stenosis, severe right neural foramina narrowing?? I have had a neck surgery, discectomy? or something like that a few years ago. I also had a brain tumor removed in 2009. The Brain MRI shows a lot of scaring and possible regrowth of the tumor near the pituitary. I have been having headaches but behind my eyes, so I didn t think it was connected to the neck. I also have numbness, muscle weakness and tingling on both right and left sides.

Hi,

Based on the results you have provided, the symptoms you are experiencing may be related to your previous neck surgery and degenerative disc disease. The cervical MRI shows narrowing of the spinal canal and neural foramina, which can put pressure on the nerves and cause numbness, tingling, and muscle weakness in the arms and legs.

The Brain MRI shows scarring and a possible regrowth of a tumor near the pituitary gland, which can also cause headaches and other neurological symptoms. While these findings are concerning, they do not necessarily mean that you have multiple sclerosis.

You must follow up with your doctor to discuss these results and any recommended next steps, such as further imaging or referral to a specialist. They may also recommend treatment options to address your symptoms, such as physical therapy or medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
