What Does This Result From GGT And Bilirubin Indicate?

My husband has just received results from blood work for insurance and is concerned about his GGT level being high.It is 140 and he is a 56 year old man.He does drink quite a bit of alcohol and is wondering if he gives this habit up if it will make a difference in his numbers. Also if he should be overly concerned about the level being high, his total bilirubin was 1.36 which was stated on the test to be high as well.Thank you,Kim

The numbers are not that high to much worry now.Yes,if he does quit from alcohol would make the difference and GGT,bilirubin values tend to normalise over time.Thanks
