What Does This Pelvic Ultrasound Report Indicate?

May 2 nd i had a D&C surgery. April 29 I went in to my obstrician after spotting the day before he recommend a pelvic ultrasound. The report goes as follows. An embryonic Gestation. Uterus contains a single gestational sac mean diameter 4.7cm. Demension equate with a AUA of 10 weeks and 4 days. No fetus was seen. Hemorrhage distally between the chorionic and amnion. The internal osmium was however closed No adnesal masses or pelvic free fluid. He wanted to do my D&C but I did it at the hospital but went to him for a follow up 7 weeks after I felt completely fine bleeding stop a day after D&C my period on time the 3rd of June lasted 4 days and normal no cramping nothing. At the follow up with him he said he feel a fibroid and why ask didn t the pelvic ultrasound didn t detect. I ask him wouldn t they detect during my D&C they did a pelvic exam before and the guide of the ultrasound did the procedure he said they wouldn t if it is small. My husband thinks he just wants to make money doing another ultrasound . Angry for I chose to use highly equipt ultrsound place instead of him since he didn t do the procedure he was asking for a lot of money. He did prescribe this cream called Drez v 30 gram miconazole and metronidazole. I purchase it and insert the night then I recall my period is due and behold it came the next night. So I stop using it and continue after my period ended. Since using the gel I have experience like scraping in my uterus and very gassy with is not usually also my vagina pain but not one for concern. My husband says its perhaps healing the uterus from the D&C but I felt perfectly fine before his follow up all he does was give me panic attack sleepless nights of wonder about having fibroids. My question though is couldn t it be my uterus haven t shrink back I have two viginal birth before and from my 1st pregnancy he have been telling me my uterus is large its twins which was not fibroid or miscalculated date and it was plan and baby came when expected. Should I just drop this doctor I only go to him at the beginning of my pregnancy then clinics and I have healthy pregnancy and I believe this miscarriage was due to taking morning after pills twice in two weeks which I end up pregnant and his respond was it will not affect the baby and I had my 1st miscarriage, hope this isn t too long just want to make things clear as possible

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, fibroid must be documented in the ultrasound report of the pelvis before the procedure of D and C was carried out. It is best recommended to consult an expert OBGYN at best known clinic such as Mayo Research center or others for final confirmation of fibroid rather than being in dilemma.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
