Dear dr. My aunty is suffering from a pain in her breast so she is suggested to take mammogram the is that BENIGN BREAST DIEASE ( FIBROADENOSIS) BOTH BREAST. WELL-DEFIENED HYPOECHOIC MASS LESSION VISUALIZED IN THE RT BREAST -SUGEESTIVE OF FIBROADENOMAS.TO CORRELATE WITH HPE. Please let me know that is it a breast cancer a big problem to be worried what treatment should be taken next she is very much afraid dr. pls explain me sir. regards B.Shanthi

Hi, first of all it is not a cancerous condition. Fibroodenosis can be treated medically by use of evening primrose oil and vitamin E or by Danazol. Fibroadenoma needs to be removed surgically as it can increase in size and can transform to cancer. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. Hope I have answered your question.
