Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Recent lumbar ct revealed small cortical based density posteriorly upper to mid right kidney measures 1 cm and is isodense to adjacent renal cortex. I was told to make appt with urologist. I did and told nurse what was on ct. They seemed quite concerned. They have now scheduled an ultrasoung, appt with urologist and general surgeon. I am a little anxious being that the final impression does say he could not rule out a mass lesion. I used to precept so I know what that means. Why am I scheduled with a surgeon and do these findings pretty much indicate rcc?
These CT scan findings could be indicative of a kidney tumor. For this reason, consulting with a surgeon is necessary in order to discuss about surgical resection or needle biopsy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
