What Does This Endoscopy Test Result For Gastritis Indicate?

I have been told to take Losec 20mg every day for my stomach as I produce to much acid. Should there be a time scale for these tablets?. No one has really told me to stop them. I have had two endoscopys so far and the results are ongoing. back and forwards for tests etc. They founds rings effects on my gullet and two polups in my stomach but nothing to worry about. I see on the website that you should only take these tablets for 4 weeks, I still get problems with acid so I just keep taking the tablets through repeat percriptions, Is this correct or should I speak to the doctor again?

Hi,

You should not take them for a period of more than 3 months. Prolonged intake causes permanent suppression of acid secretion and digestive issues(as acid is must for our food digestion. Please change your dietary habits. Avoid tea, coffee, spices, heavy and fatty meals. Take 5-6 small meals per day instead of 3 large per day. Avoid late night awakening and take dinner early. Don't miss the daily walk. You will feel the difference.
