MRI shows there is a mild broad posterior disc bulge and superimposed small left paracentral disc protrusion mildly indenting the thecal sac and mildly encrouching the left lateral recess. The nerve exit formina are maintained. I have lower lumbar back pain along with leg pain with numbness and tingling. Pain is mostly in the front of my inner thigh, when I walk and stand and periodically a stabbing sensation when Im laying down and sitting. This has been going on for 3 months now. Ive had phyical therpy and I take muscle relaxers and pain pills but nothing is working.-Do you think surgery is necessary? Thank you regards, Shonda.
yes you can go for surgery but , the pain might get relieved for the time being but mind you lumbar spondylosis occurs due to altered biomechanics of the spine. so after surgery if you dont attend your PT sessions the pain might resurface
