Hello,

Sclerosis in medicine is term applied to the structure that is changing the tissue with normal one or replaces with abnormal tissue which makes the organ or structure stiff, (Sclerotic is the adjective of sclerosis ) in your case it is the vertebra that is being changed with abnormal tissue which might have made the vertebra structure stiff. (Sclerosis mostly happening due to the inflammatory process)

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Husain
