What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

I am having an MRI today and plan for a cortisone shot in my knee area next Tuesday. I have a new doctor appointment on July9 elsewhere and wonder if a cortisone shot now would be inadvisable prior to a July 9 appointment at another location that might want to have an MRI done at their YYYY@YYYY

You have not described anything about the MRI report of your knee.
Cortisone injection is given to relieve local severe inflammatory pain due to bursitis, tendinitis, arthritis etc. Again this injection with local anesthetics is sometimes used to confirm a diagnosis of exact location of pain.
Thease injection can be easily administered with minimum side effects have a quick onset in pain relief. You have not mentioned the indication of doing MRI but it might has been done to diagnose local soft tissue involvement of knee.
