Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a standard HIV test done yesterday (abs test they call it). HIV2 came back non-reactive. The results came back borderline negative for HIV1 with a value exactly right on the cutt off of 1.0,This has me worried. Should I be concerned and be tested again, or is this conclusive? I don t have high risk sex, but did have unprotected oral in early November and January.
HI Well come to HCM The test that you have done is not enough here to get it confirm there is many conditions and test need to go through, like history of exposure with positive HIV person, or using contaminated things of positive person which directly comes in contact with sera or blood product, test need to carried out in specific time period and it need to be done in authentic method, best would be PCR test, and viral load test, but most important is positive history, hope this information helps, take care.
