General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have history of hypertension since 15 years and heart rate went high recently. Your Echo shows, 1 degree diastolic dysfunction and is indicative of impaired relaxation (decreased suction of LV). Grade I (impaired relaxation) is a normal finding and occurs in nearly 100% of individuals by the age of 60 who are hypertensive. It is good to know that you do not smoke or drink and have no chest pain or breathing problem but neglect may trigger grade 2 diastolic dysfunction and it may bring complications.

You are suggested to lose weight if obese, do regular walking and exercises. Take healthy home made food made in olive oil. Avoid trans fat, oily spicy food, full fat dairy products, refined flour, red meat, packaged and frozen food. Take whole cereals, fruits and veggies. Stay well hydrated & take adequate rest. Maintain healthy living and stay away from stressful lifestyle. Go for routine checkups, get lipid function tests done on a regular basis. Control your BP at all cost.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
