What Does This CT Scan Report Indicate?

A recent ct scan shows that I have mild fusiform ectasia of the ascending thoracic aorta, measuring up to 3.8 cm in diameter. My G.P. isn t concerned about it . Should I be? Also, about five years ago,an ultrasound showed that I had a slight unfolding of the aorta. I am a 73 year male and in otherwise very good health.

No you don't have to worry about. 3.8 cm aortic caliber is considered normal for your age. The surgical criteria is for intervention is more than 5.5 cm of aortic caliber.
