What Does This CT Scan Report Indicate?

i had a question about a ct scan chest scan result of my left lung and would like an honest better understanding of these results i had another ct of same area 5 months ago and the nodule was 13 x 4.5 x 8 mm but now is 20 mm of this month .FINDINGS: LUNGS: Special attention was paid to the left lower lung where an elongated slightly spiculated and irregularly outlined noncalcified density is again noted measuring slightly larger in the axial plane at 20 mm but stable in appearance and size on the coronal images.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Finding nodules in lungs in a scan is common and there is a full protocol how to follow patients as most of such nodules are not serious while few may be serious.

According to your report, the nodule appears to be a bit dangerous looking and need further management. The size is quite large, and the speculated margins suggest seriousness. We recommend that this nodule would need a biopsy for further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
