What Does This CT Scan Indicate?

Hi doctor, Ct scan of my 57 years old aunt showed these impression : Infarcts of indeterminate age, posterior limb of the right internal capsule and left corona radiata. Chronic infarcts, right cerebellar hemisphere and right occipital lobe. Minimal microvascular ischemic disease. Non-specific parenchymal calcifications , right frontal and parietal deep white matter. No evidence of an acute intracranial hemorrhage. What does these results means doctor? We don t understand medical terms stated on the above impression. Hello and thank you for your question. The findings you list above indicate that your aunt has had several strokes in different areas of the brain. Infarcts are dead tissue that shows up on CT or MRI after a stroke. It also says that there is no bleeding in the brain. Many different parts of her brain are affected so she really needs to see a neurologist to determine the cause of these changes and to prevent more strokes. Good luck to you.
