What Does This ACTH Stimulation Test Result Indicate?
Yes... My doctor sent me for a ACTH stim test. Baseline cortisol was 6.8; 30 min was 24; and 60 min was 28. I had nausea prior to the 30 minute check. Once home, I began to have 3+ pitting in BLE and was very weak and shakey... Is there a chance that my body reacted instead of responded to the cortrosyn injection? There was mild dyspnea upon exertion and rest as well. BP shot up to 140/100 and HR resting was 90-112.
Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
ACTH stimulation (synacthen test) test is done to look if your body is producing enough cortisol. The interpretation is
1. Normal : Cortisol after stimulation is more that 18 mcg/dl 2. Low cortisol reserve : cortisol value less than 18 mcg/dl
Your values are normal
