What Does The Following Uterine Ultrasound Result Mean?

Hi i recently had an ultrasound of my uterus following symptoms of ache/pressure to my lower abdomen feeling like i need to constantly urinate. the results were : 3x2mm echogenic focus within the endometrium, probobly a calcification from previous infection. Minimally heterogeneous echotexture could be due to normal physiological changes or could be due to early changes of edenomyosis. I have been referred to a gynacologist. i am currently on depoprovera injections and have been since april 2012 so do not get a period. last bleed was about august 2012. i am 45 years old. i am wanting to know what it means and also as i dont get a period how will i know if i am menopausal. thankyou

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The depoprovera injections are responsible for absence of menstrual cycle.
Adenomyosis is usually treated with pain killers and hormones.
Hormonal treatment is usually in the form of intra-uterine device (IUCD).
I suggest you to discuss with your gynecologist for option of insertion of hormonal releasing IUCD.
You can get levels of FSH in urine to know whether menopause has set in.
during menopause the level of FSH is raised in urine.

Thanks and take care
