What Does The Following Histopathology Report Suggest?
Hi! I had D&C last June 2017 and the histopathology report are: (1) acute endometritis; (2) endometrial stroma with marked decidua-like reaction; and (3) fragments of endocervical tissues with squamos cell metaplasia. Pls enlighten me what these results really means. My Doctor said patients with squamos cells metaplasia will have their ovaries removed.

Acute endometritis means recently occurring infection of the uterus lining. Endometrium with decidual reaction means the hormones are producing changes like those produced in pregnancy in the uterus lining. Decidua is seen in pregnancy.
Squamous metalplasia means the normal columnar lining of endocervix is replaced by normal squamous which is normally seen in ectocervix which is outer part of cervix. I don't think ovaries are to ve removed due to this report
