What Does The Following Echocardiography Report Suggest?

One of the things that came up on a 2D echo w/Bubble was a interatrial shunt. This has not shown up in the past and my PCP is wondering why it didn t. The past 2 years I have had a major decline in my breathing and on Feb. 4th I was taken by ambulance to the hospital after my husband found me unconscious. I was diagnosed with respiratory failure, and several other things including double pneumonia, partially collapsed lung, RSV virus. This is what the echo showed: CONCLUSIONS Bubble study was performed demonstrating an interatrial shunt. Left ventricular ejection fraction is in the normal range. Catheter/pacemaker wire in the right ventricular cavity. Catheter/pacemaker wire in the right atrial cavity. Mild left atrial dilatation. Right atrial dilatation. Mild to moderate mitral regurgitation. Moderate tricuspid regurgitation. Right ventricular systolic pressure estimated at 67 mmHg + right atrial pressure. I am concerned since I have been having episodes for the past 2 years with muscle spasms in my mitral valve and have complained about abdominal problems and throwing up off and on for the past 2 years. How does and individual get an interatrial shunt? It was not there a couple yeas ago.
