What Does The Following Chest X-ray Report Suggest?
I am Christine, 46, years old. My chest xrays shows: Both lungs are hperaerated. The heart is not enlarged. Hemidiaphragms are low set. The rest of the vusualized structures are intact. IMPRESSION: Pulmonary hyperaeration, bilateral. What does it mean and can it back to normal by treatment?
Dear sir, Thanks for contacting healthcare magic. You did not mention about your smoking history. If you are a chronic smoker the given X-ray features most probably suggestive of early features of COPD(chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), a medical condition caused by long term exposure to Cigarette smoking. If you are a non smoker we have to think about other diseases like cystic fibrosis and asthma. You must consult a doctor and make a correct diagnosis,If it is COPD you should quit smoking as soon as possible, and may require long term medicines.
Hope I have addressed your concern
thank you
