What Does The Following Chest X-ray Report As Apical Pleural Thickening Suggest?
Hi I am 65 yrs old woman and had a chest xray today for hx of positive ppd secondary to the BCG vaccine in childhood. My xray shows mild apical pleural thickening bilaterally with minimal fibronodular changes in the left apec of my lung. What does this all mean?

Bilateral apical pleural thickening and minimal fibronodular changes in left apical region may indicate past healed infection.Infection naturally heals by fibrosis,thickening,calcification etc.
Generally these conditions doesn't require any treatment.
It may require surgical intervention if it causes compromise of pulmonary functions.
You have minimal findings,so you don't worry at all.
