What Does The Following Blood Test Result Mean?

I am a male of 52 years. Recently conducted blood tests shows the following parameters: Lymphocyte percentage - 43.6 Monocytes - Absolute count - 0.16 Basophils - Absolute count - 0.01 Total RBC - 3.95 MCV - 111.9 MCH - 34.7 MCHC - 31 SD (RDW-SD) - 69.9 RDW-CV - 16.7 Plateletcrit (PCT) - 0.18 Reamrsk given: Alert!!! Predominantly macrocytic normochromic with macroovalocytes

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

Your MCV, RDW is increased & you have macrocytic normochromic anemia which means the red blood cell in your sample are very large size & are of normal color. Macroovalocytes are enlarged, oval-shaped erythrocytes (red blood cells). They are not seen in healthy blood & shows defective maturation of red blood cells.
These reports shows you have megaloblastic anemia. In most instances, it is due to Vitamin B-12 or folate deficiency.
