Hi , My CT Scan report says that A 15mm calculus is seen in left PUJ with adjacent wall thickening and peripheral fat stranding. Ureters not dilated. No obvious radio opacity along ureteric line seen IMPRESSION: - Left PUJ calculus with surrounding inflammatory changes and mild hydronephrosis. Does it means infection also in kidney , can it be cured without operation ?
Hi, no there is no infection. There is slight swelling (inflammation) due to irritation by the stone. There is also hydronephrosis--slight enlargement of junction between Ureter and Pelvis of kidney. They can try to breat the stone with Lithotrypsy(ultra sound) or try removing with a catheter inserted from below. If these fail--you will have to undergo surgery since the stone is big--regards
