What Does The Following CT Scan Report Suggest?

I have Chronic Sinusitis and am currently suffering from a sinus infection that my doctor can not seem to cure. I also had surgery to fix my sinuses two years ago, current CT is in comparison to the first CT that was taken before surgery. I have had this infection for eight weeks, going into the ninth week. I have taken four rounds of very strong antibiotics and two rounds of steroids, still infected! CT Scan was taken after all the medications and it came up with the following impressions: 1. Status post bilateral uncinectomy and partial ethmoidectomy (Previous surgery). 2. Increase in mucosal thickening involving the walls of right maxillary sinus previously with greatest thickness at 3mm now at 12mm. There is improvement in mucosal thickening involving the left maxillary sinus previously at 9mm now at 4mm. 3. There is mucosal thickening involving the residual ethmoid air cells extending to the frontoethmoidal recess. The left compartment of the frontal sinus is completely opacified whereas previously it showed mild mucosal thickening of 1-2mm. 4. There is increase in mucosal thickening involving the walls of the sphenoid sinus previously at 1-2 mm now at 4mm. My actual Dr wants to keep trying different types of treatment using trial and error while his partner insists it will take surgery to fix this situation. I feel horrible, daily headaches with pressure in my face and head. Can you please give me an opinion of which route I should consider, Thank you!

Hello,

This is definitely chronic sinusitis and if you haven’t had any relief from the medication I would advise you to go for surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
