What Does The Cyst On Left Side Of Cerebellum Shown In X-ray Mean?

I recently had a MRI on my neck because I have been having a lot of pain. The first MRI was on my neck and showed a small cyst so they wanted a farther MRI of brain. The second MRI again shows the cyst, which measures 6 x 4 x 5mm on left side of cerebellum. No abnormal enhancement. They are saying it is nothing to worry about. I have a lot of pain right at that point. Should I get second opinion

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a degenerative cystic lesion possibly arising from age related wear and tear. Nothing much to worry and only close monitoring is required. As you are asymptomatic there is no need for aggressive treatment at present.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
