What Does The Absence Of Periods After Stopping Depo Shots Suggest?

Hi.I ve been on the depo vera for 6months and my last date was 13january but I didn t go.the begining of May I will be off from it for 5 months.I realy want to have my last baby as it wil be my 3rd.I ve recently started using pregnacare for 2 weeks but are worried because I have not had my periods yet since I stopped using depo vera..any advise about what I can do or use please??

Hi,

Most of the effects on body will go by themselves after stopping of Depo shot. However, your period may be late and may take few months for the periods to start. Even after coming for the first time after stopping the shot, the periods may be irregular for some time. Sometimes, you may be pregnant even before your periods arrive.

The chances to conceive may be there after some months. Most of the patients, who are off the depot shot, may become pregnant within 10 months of stopping the shot. However for some it may take a long time.
