What Does The NT Scan Report Indicate?

hi, doctor, my wife is pregnant, and recently we have got NT scan done, in the report it is mentioned placenta is posterior, it is grade I in maturity, lower end of placenta is covering the internal OS, can you please advice what does it mean, and is there any sight of danger to carry pregnancy.

Hi and welcome to HCM.

NT scan is basically done to rule out downs syndrome in baby.
Coming to placenta, posterior position with grade one maturity us normal, but report also shows that it's covering internal os which is not normal. It's called placenta praevia.
As the pregnancy progess placenta will move upwards, your doctor may advice one more scan and follow the progression of placenta.. If it's not moving then it is a problem and your doctor may plan for a c section
