Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The tips of my fingers (my finger pads, around my nails, & on the sides) crack/pop open & bleed & are EXTREMELY sore when this happens. This usually starts in October & by April stops so I chalked it up to cold weather =heat on=dry skin. I have tried every kind of lotion, over the counter ointment, wearing gloves when cleaning & none of it helps. Is there something else causing this? And is there a prescription that can help my hurting fingers? Should I see my doctor?
As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like Betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
