What Does Severe Pain In The Lower Back Indicate?

Hello, I was bucked off my horse at a rodeo and landed directly on my right hip, The dimple on my lower back was bruised. I have a high pain tolerance as a seventeen year old, (I was bucked off in July,) while I was sitting down, I felt pain between my buttocks and dimple on my back, I felt around and something moved. I compared it to the other side and it didn t move. I asked my mom and she may think I tore a muscle, but my father thinks one of my disks are out. Any idea?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It can be a slip disc, muscle tear, injury to the muscle/ligament, pinched nerve or some other type of dislocation.

You need to visit ER, get examined and get all the required tests done.

For pain you can take Acetaminophen, NSAIDS or Diclofenac. Sprays and ointments are also quite effective.

Hope I have answered your query.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
