What Does Severe Pain In The Lower Abdomen Indicate?

Two days ago I had severe pain in my lower abdomen all across not just one side. It was so bad I couldn’t sit. The pressure pushing up as I sat down was like a knife being inserted in my vagina. I laid on my left side and it eased up after a few hours. However since then I have had severe abdominal tenderness like I had had surgery. It hurts to laugh, cough, sneeze and some movement. I have not run a temp, no vomiting, no diahreah. And my appetite is fine.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have to go to the emergency department for a complete clinical evaluation. There are many causes of abdominal pain including abdominal and gynecological causes. This can't be excluded without assessment. Your doctor will evaluate your condition and exclude any surgical causes then they would prescribe painkillers and anti-spasmodic to relieve your condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
