What Does Severe Pain In The Breasts Indicate?

I had saline breast implants eight years ago and have never had any problem with them.Suddenly ,about 3 weeks ago I have begun to have some pain in my left breast only.It is not a relly bad pain and is very sporadic some days not at all and just feels like a kind of electric shock pain ,usually only few seconds at a time.Occasionally it will kind of ache for a few hrs. on and off. I cannot recall any inqury except that I did try out a new exercise machine and did some extensive pulling and stretching.I have been contributing it to that but it has been 3 weeks and just a little concerned.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a cyclical mastalgia due to hormonal changes. As first-line management, you can take analgesics like mefenamic acid for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
