What Does Redness In The Big Toe In A Diabetic Indicate?

Thank you for your help. The big toe on my right foot is red from the end to the first joint. The toe nail looks like it has a line about 1/3 of the way from the end. THere doesn t seem to be any soreness but I ve keep checking and it doesn t seem like the nail is growing. I am diabetic.

I would seriously suggest you check your foot wear. I feel your shoes may be too tight.

I am not sure from the query, but long standing diabetes may affect the nerves. and when they do the discomfort from shoes is not easily felt

And this may lead to redness and other problems including wounds and ulcers.
I hope your sugars are well controlled. have them checked regularly
