What Does Rapidly, Decreasing Heart Muscle Function And Requirement Of Defibrillator Indicate?
I am 63 and had a CABE when I was 45 two vessels. I Had two stents first. 2013 I had another stent put in. Six months ago I had a cardiac checkup with echo and my heart muscle was 90% functioning. Today I got the results of my echo done last week. My heart muscle is only 30%. My cardiologist order a catheterization and is predicting a defibrillator be placed. What is my prognosis?

Your prognosis depends on the condition that has led to the fall in EF to 30%. If it is ischemia then you can be put on drugs for a life time but if cardiac failure has set in and causing myopathy then defibrillator will help you in preventing arrhythmias again increasing the longevity.
The prognosis any which way is equal depending upon the quality of life you are leading.
