What Does Protein Build Up In Bladder Found In Bladder Biopsy Mean?

My mother of 86 years of age..had a biopsy of bladder...spoke with a P.A. and he said a big word...cant spell or pronounce...bottom line build up of protein I assume in her bladder..he said it is rare and have appt. Monday for all the report...what is the medical name for this condition? And where can I find some info for this condition...want to be somewhat able to understand when we see doctor. Hello Ruth and welcome.

The word you are looking for is probably proteinuria and this is only a symptom and not the condition itself. It is most probably due to some abnormality of the renal system and so I would recommend a renal function test, CT abdomen with special emphasis on your kidneys and a consult with a nephrologist.
