What Does Prolonged Stomach Ache Above The Belly Button In A Child Suggest?

My 8 year old son complain of a stomach ache Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon. He did not have a fever, diahrea or constipation. Seemed fine other than the pain-he just said his stomach hurt. It was about an inch or so above his belly button. The was than fine until this afternoon. He again complained of a stomach ache. We tried to ask him what kind of pain but he couldn t articulate it, just said it kind of hurt like he was going to throw up but that he wasn t going to throw up. I then felt around on his stomach and he said the pain was pretty specific to a small area (maybe the area of a 50cent peice). He said it hurt about an inch above his belly button and about an inch to the right of his belly button. He seems fine other than the pain. Still no fever, diahrea, constipation, he has urinated. He complained about it A LOT tonight. Any ideas what could be causing this? Should I bring him in or continue to monitor it since there seem to be no other symptoms. Thank you.
