What Does Pressure Sensation In The Chest After Eating Indicate?

I am 59 years old and during periods of stress I feel pressure on my chest and sometimes prickly feeling after I eat. My mother passed away from Heart Disease at 79.I saw cardiologist today that did echocardiogram...upon looking at the images. He stated it wasn t pumping as well as it should for a person my age..and asked me twice if I drank alcohol...I never dranked or smoked. I plan to have a stress test with dye...I am really scared...I am already an anxious person...why would he ask me if I drank and why is my heart pumping slowly? Thank you in advance...I am near tears.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to severe acid reflux. We have to rule out other possibilities like post prandial angina.

As of now you can take antacids like omeprazole for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
