What Does Pressure In The Head Along With Dizziness Indicate?

My mother is 80 years old today. She is 5ft 3in and weighs about 130lbs. She has been suffering from a pressure feeling in the top (back) part of her head for about 2 month. She says it feels like she can feel fluid moving around in her head. She said the pain is not bad unless she moves her head left, right or back. It gets worse if she exerts herself, like raising her arms, or standing. She gets a dizzy when standing almost to the point of fainting. She s also been having trouble with breathing and feeling real winded when she stands up. She said when she stands up, it feels like something is dropping from the top of her body down to her feet where her legs get completely numb feeling. She said if she stands still and waits a few minutes, the feeling begins to come back in her legs and she can move without much problem. But, she said if she gets up and tries to walk, she can t breathe good, until that something finishes making its way through her body. My mom is not a complainer and hates going to the doctor, but has felt bad enough to go to several the past few months.... neurologist, heart doctor, etc... she s had mri s, cat scans, heart catherization, brain scans, etc...but doctors have found nothing. They ve pretty much told her that there s nothing wrong with her and it s just her imagination. It is NOT her imagination. Like I said, my mom is the strongest woman I know, she s not a hypochondiac and I ve seen her going downhill over the past few months. Do any of these symptoms sound like something you ve heard of or that I could do more research on? I want to help her where the doctors have pretty much given up...

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
